Events

From our signature Mental Health Fair to small self-care events, the Mental Health Committee aims to host fun and relaxing events open to the student body. We utilize such spaces to promote resources and wellbeing tips while also giving students a chance to take a break and unwind!

The committee hosts many events over the course of the year, be sure to subscribe to our newsletter or follow our Instagram to stay in the know for future dates! This page is also updated as new events arise. If there is an event you would like to see on campus, send us an email at any time.

Continuing Events

  • Compliments On Campus

Throughout the year, MHC tables in the GSU to hand out wellness kits and affirmations/compliment cards to students on campus. Coupled with a reflective question, these events aim to promote a few minutes of mindfulness and self-understanding.

  • Stress-Less Workshops

MHC is proud to offer stress-less workshops for student groups on campus. During these workshops, we strive to have open conversations about mental health and the impact of stigma through reflective journaling and other activities. Self-care kits and journals are supplied by us to make these events as accessible as possible. If you are interested in partnering with us for one of these events, feel free to email us at any time.

  • You Before BU

A finals-centered version of our Compliments on Campus event, You Before BU aims to promote mindfulness and breaks during the study period leading up to finals. MHC tables in the GU, offering wellness kits and Redbull to students. This event happens 1-2 days each semester.

Fall Events

  • Mental Health Fair

Held annually in October, MHC’s signature resource fair features both student and administrative organizations from BU as well as local and national organizations centered around mental health and wellbeing.

Spring Events

  • American Foundation for Suicide Prevention: Out of the Darkness Walk

Held annually in April, the AFSP walk is a community walk dedicated to supporting those lost to or struggling with suicide. MHC hosts a fundraiser for the event, donating all proceeds directly to the organization. If you are interested in walking with us or registering your campus organization for the event, please reach out to us or sign up using the official AFSP fundraising link when it is released.

  • National Eating Disorder Association Awareness Week Fundraiser

Held in March, the NEDA fundraiser supports the National Eating Disorder Association which serves to educate the public about the realities of eating disorders and to provide hope, support, and visibility to individuals and families affected by them. MHC hosts a fundraiser during NEDA’s annual awareness week, with all proceeds going directly to the organization.
